JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN A DIVERSIFIED INDIGENOUS GROUP OF COMPANIES

Owing to rapid growth and horizontal integration, our client, a well diversified indigenous group and a major payer in the productive sector of the economy has vacancies for intelligent, resourceful, dynamic and result-oriented professionals with pleasant personality for the following positions:

CHIEF ACCOUNTANT:

The prospective candidate must be a chartered accountant with no less than 7 years post- qualification experience gained in a similar well-managed private sector establishment.

Core functions but not limited to:

-                      Handling the finance and accounts departments and effectively performing financial analyses and coordinating with the entire finance team to completing tasks within specified time frame.

-                      Monitoring expenditures, analyzing revenues and determining budget parameters and reporting same to management

-                      Coordinating budget preparation and implementation with a view to providing industry-standard financial guidelines

-                      Showing and demonstrating the competence to perform the foregoing duties in a newly established five-star hotel complex located in the federal Capital Territory

-                      Demonstrating working knowledge of IT and accounting packages that will help in streaming complex accounting functions and requirements.

ACCOUNTANTS

The prospective candidates must be chartered with at least 3 years post qualification experience and suitably disposed to learn and work with a team. He or she will be expected to work in any of the member companies in the group.

Core functions but not limited to:

-                      Establishing, maintaining and assisting in the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

-                      Resolving accounting discrepancies using standard procedures

-                      Recommending, developing and maintaining financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filling systems

-                      Supervising the handling of financial data and carry out other duties as he or she may be assigned with

HEAD OF INTERNAL AUDIT GROUP

The prospective candidates must be a chartered accountant with at least 10 years post qualification experience, five of which must have been gained in a similar position. He or she will be expected to show the skill and ability to work without supervision and lead a multi-disciplinary internal audit group

Core functions but not limited to:

-                      Evaluating and providing reasonable assurance that the company's instituted risk management system is functioning as designed and will support the organization in achieving its aims and objectives.

-                      Coordinating all internal and external resources towards ensuring that compliance programs are effectively implemented

-                      Evaluating regulatory compliance procedures with due consultations with legal and other relevant department or units

INTERNAL AUDITORS

The prospective candidates must be chartered accountants with excellent numeric skills balanced with an orientation for details and inquiry mind as part of internal audit team for the group. Knowledge and experience of internal audit procedures is required and must be demonstrated

Core functions but not limited to:

-                      performing all functions as may be assigned by the head of internal audit group

ESTATE MANAGERS:

Candidates must be members of the institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers with at least 5 years post-qualification experience gained in a reputable firm. The suitable candidate will be expected to manage the vast properties of the group in many locations across the country. The successful candidate should have a demonstrable ability to compile and maintain suitable records of properties and to account for same in a professional manner.

Core functions but not limited to:

-                      Effectively providing a safe, secure and well environment and carrying out other professional duties that will enhance the management of the vast properties of the group across the country.

REMUNERATION

The remuneration package for each position is attractive but negotiable, though it will include the normal perquisites attached to such position.
